I spent the past week in Blansko (Czech Republic) for the Unica film festival and their workshops on animation film.
I ended up in the stop-motion group and we created a film around the theme of next-year’s edition in The Netherlands.
That suited me just fine, considering my Dutch background!
It was VERY challenging to create an animation film in such a short amount of time and we often stayed up after midnight either shooting or editing. Our hard work paid off! And I must say it was pretty weird to see myself on the big screen :D
Here's a heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful people I met at the festival for the laughs, good vibes, friendship and for teaching me so many international swear words. It was enriching!

Ich habe die letzte Woche in Blansko (Tschechische Republik) für das Unica-Filmfestival und ihre Workshops zum Thema Animationsfilm verbracht.
Ich bin in der Stop-Motion-Gruppe gelandet und wir haben einen Film zum Thema der nächsten Ausgabe in den Niederlanden gedreht. Das hat mir in Anbetracht meiner niederländischen Herkunft sehr gut gefallen!
Es war SEHR herausfordernd, in so kurzer Zeit einen Animationsfilm zu erstellen, und wir blieben oft nach Mitternacht auf, um zu drehen oder zu bearbeiten. Unsere harte Arbeit hat sich gelohnt! Und ich muss sagen, es war ziemlich seltsam, mich auf der großen Leinwand zu sehen: D
Ein herzliches Dankeschön an alle wundervollen Menschen, die ich auf dem Festival getroffen habe, für das Lachen, die gute Stimmung, die Freundschaft und die vielen internationalen Schimpfwörter. Es war bereichernd!
J'ai passé la semaine dernière à Blansko (République tchèque) pour le festival du film Unica et ses ateliers sur le film d'animation.
Je me suis retrouvé dans le groupe stop-motion et nous avons créé un film sur le thème de l'édition de l'année prochaine aux Pays-Bas.
Cela me convenait parfaitement, compte tenu de mes origines néerlandaises!
C'était très difficile de créer un film d'animation en si peu de temps et nous travaillions souvent en tournage ou en montage, même après minuit. Notre travail acharné a porté ses fruits! Et je dois dire que c'était assez étrange de me voir sur grand écran :D
Je tiens à remercier sincèrement toutes les personnes formidables que j'ai rencontrées au festival pour leurs fous rires, ses bonnes vibrations, son amitié et pour m'avoir enseigné tant de jurons internationaux. C'était enrichissant!
