the Committee

The committee usually meets three times a year: once during the UNICA Congress, once hosted by a committee member and once at the venue for the next UNICA Festival. Elections are held every third UNICA Congress. Decisions of the committee are mainly subject to approval by the next General Assembly.

  • Member of the board of directors of the Federal Association of German Film Authors (BDFA) since 1997 and Vice President responsible for competitions and jury.

As a juror and jury leader, it is very important to him to recognise the intentions and the chosen themes of the authors in their films and to convey the effect of the films in an understandable way.

He is also keen to hear different opinions in order to be able to recognise the entire spectrum of films.

Publications and presentations on film rating, film analysis and film design.

In 2010, he worked decisively and intensively with a team on the renewal of the BDFA in order to lead this association into a good future.

The results for the renewal of the BDFA have been decided in 2015 with a large majority of the members and are now being implemented step by step.

He would very much like to share the experience gained from this work with the film enthusiasts of the member countries during a renewal of UNICA, because UNICA deserves a renewal.

The organisation of UNICA must be structured in such a way that it can also meet the challenges of the future.

We should create a better and more transparent participation of the Member Countries, so that a successful dialogue can be established between UNICA and its Members. Above all, the competitions must also be cost-effective for all interested film enthusiasts, as this meeting of the international community makes it possible to forge friendships and exchange many experiences.

We should talk to each other about a common future for our UNICA, because:

We still have a lot to say to each other

... let us start.
